Well for me no......Living further north than most means we have fewer shows and its nothing to have to travel 300 miles or 8 hours to a show.

The biggest problem seems to be that its the same old judges....several times I have been showing a particular colour to find that a judge is doing that class at five consecutive shows!!!

Personally I feel that there has to be a bit more vigellance on the part of show managers.....I`ll probably get shot for saying this but some seem to be really out of touch with the cat fancy!! Perhaps in this age of IT a database could be set up into which all show/judge appointments could be entered and then show managers could see at a glance who has done what and where??

Having said that there are some really good show teams out there who really are in touch and do make it a fantastic day for the exhibitors and do make an effort to find different judges....

Another problem I`ve encountered recently is conflicting show dates...another communication problem...and I now find myself with divided loyalties between two shows.....its a shame because all the clubs need to make their shows viable....

Perhaps its time for clubs to actually communicate with there membership to see what they want from a show??

Well yes it can be annoying having a cat entered in the Imperial and in the Grand but do we really want to make things easy......

We now have the Orientals and Siamese split in the Imperial and since then some cats from what I can see have had it very easy....

There was a day when open classes alone had loads of competition and you were lucky if you went home with a CC or PC so as far as I`m concerned competition is healthy....

Lets face it one mans meat can be another mans poison so everyone is in with a chance...

We should be looking towards raising the standards so to do that you need to have the good cats entered.....do we really want mediocre titled cats???

Hello Janie37,

My name is jane too! I am a new member, a bit shy really. I just wanted to browse the forums to look at info about havana cats, as I am hoping to adopt an adult baby, I am noy sure whether to have one or two. You seem to be a very knowledgeable oriental cat lady. I would love to hear a story about one of your havana cats.

It is a beautiful day here in Stourbridge.

We have never shown a cat before and would very much like to show our lilac boy.

Please could anyone tell me where to get information on:

How to prepare him for showing?
What vacc he will need?
What shows would be suitable?
How many classes he could be entered for?
