Well for me no......Living further north than most means we have fewer shows and its nothing to have to travel 300 miles or 8 hours to a show.

The biggest problem seems to be that its the same old judges....several times I have been showing a particular colour to find that a judge is doing that class at five consecutive shows!!!

Personally I feel that there has to be a bit more vigellance on the part of show managers.....I`ll probably get shot for saying this but some seem to be really out of touch with the cat fancy!! Perhaps in this age of IT a database could be set up into which all show/judge appointments could be entered and then show managers could see at a glance who has done what and where??

Having said that there are some really good show teams out there who really are in touch and do make it a fantastic day for the exhibitors and do make an effort to find different judges....

Another problem I`ve encountered recently is conflicting show dates...another communication problem...and I now find myself with divided loyalties between two shows.....its a shame because all the clubs need to make their shows viable....

Perhaps its time for clubs to actually communicate with there membership to see what they want from a show??
Some very valid points raised and I do agree.

The database idea sounds a very good one, but how to go about it and who to do it?!!

The Suffolk & Norfolk show at Wood Green Animal Shelter a couple of weeks ago was very good with a Catolympics theme and the Blue Peter cats in attendance, all made for a very good atmosphere.

Agreed again, conflicting show dates, which was the reason for the subject heading - are there in fact too many shows? Particularly in the southern part of the country? I personally would hate to have to travel 8 hours for a show - 2 hours is my maximum, and the cats for that matter!!
